Ajay Shah has Ph.D. in Economics from University of Southern California, Los Angeles and B.Tech. in Aeronautical Engineering from IIT, Mumbai. He has held positions at the Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (Mumbai), Indira Gandhi Institute for Development Research (Mumbai) and the Ministry of Finance, and now co-leads the Macro/Finance Group as a Professor at National Institute of Public Finance and Policy, New Delhi. He is engaged in academic and policy-oriented research in the fields of Indian economic growth, open economy macroeconomics, public finance, financial economics and pensions.
